Tuesday my mom woke me up way too early and we heading to Rochester (again). This time for my last NICU follow up clinic, yep, my last one. And according to my ma, it was one of the most productive ones. I personally couldn't tell a difference. But here's the highlights, if you can call them that:
- I am 24 lbs now and 2 feet 8 inches tall. I'm a big boy :)
- I am going to have another MRI. They want to see how things have changed since I haven't had one since I was in the NICU. Plus, this will give them more of an idea on how my development will progress. I overheard them say that I will need to be put under for this so I stay still, but I am not really sure what they are putting me under... I hope its not too scary.
- I am going to see a new opthomologist, one that also specializes in neurology. My mom was pumped to hear this. She was getting pretty mad at the guy I have been seeing for my appointments. All he would say is my eyes are fine, but wouldn't talk about what I am actually seeing/comprehending. So this should be a good visit.
- I am no longer needing to come to NICU follow up clinic because they are switching me to the CP clinic. So no need to get too excited, I still have to go to appointments, just a different kind.
- And I now have an official diagnosis.... they told my mom that they are going to go ahead and diagnose me with Cerebral Palsy. I guess this was bitter sweet for my mom, as she has been expecting this and was waiting for someone to actually diagnose me (most doctors danced around the subject), but at the same time I think she was a little sad. On the drive home, though, she told me of all these really cool and amazing kids that she has worked with over the years that also have CP. So she will make sure that I am able to do whatever I want to as the years go by. As she said, "a diagnosis is not going to keep me from enjoying life, it will just make fighting with insurance a tad easier"

Brew Crew Fam
So this weekend my parents got me all dressed up in my Brew Crew gear, took a quick fam pick, and then hit the road for Milwaukee...... leavin me behind with my Grandma & Grandpa Servais and Aunt Kristi (thanks for hangin with me all weekend). I was all excited thinkin I was gonna get to see Miller Park. Oh well, another time I guess. And it was probably a good thing I didn't tag along - it was like 90 degress Saturday (and the Crew lost), so I didn't miss much. Plus, they went with 2 of my buddies from the NICU's parents - and they all left the kids behind too. At least the Brewers won today!!!
P.S.. My new lil bro or sis is now 32 weeks along! We're getting close

Happy Mother's Day
Just wanted to give a shout out to all those Wonderful Mothers and Grandmothers out there - I know my mom is pretty cool. Even though she makes me work hard she saves plenty of time for snuggling too!
Speaking of making me work hard, my mom has been trying to get me to eat again. I have to say, it is going a lil better than it did last fall/winter when I was soooo stuffy. But I am still not a fan. Why should I eat with my mouth when it is so easy to just hook me up to some tubing and the food goes right in my belly? Anywho, I guess I will keep trying as long as my mom keeps working at it.

Up to 3-6 small spoons of baby food a day... does it count if its all over my face? |

Saying Goodbye
Lindsay |
Molly |
helping my family out this past year. When my mom decided to go back to work in the fall, she contacted UWL to see if there were any physical therapy students, who were interested in pediatrics, willing to sign up to be a PCA for me. She got 2 responses and they turned out to be pretty cool. So not only were they a PCA for me, they also made me work hard with PT stuff. This week they finished up the classroom portion of their program and get to go out into the workforce now on their clinics - at least that is what my mom told me (I have not clue what that really means). So, long story short, they are leaving town this weekend to put to use all the stuff they just learned. Before they left, my mom of course had to snap a few pictures, so I thought I would share them with you all, since they did such an awesome job watching me - they put up with all my dirty diapers, all my different meds, my crazy feeding schedule, and I believe I even puked on each of them a couple times..... and they stuck around. So me and my folks just want to say thanks to them. And now, since they are leaving, my Awesome Aunt Kristi is gonna step in and spend a lot of her free time with me until my mom finishes up working for the year. So if you are looking for her, and she's not at Channel 8 News, then she is probably in Cali.... and I don't mean California.
