Inspire

This past weekend, beside being a nice glimpse of summer as my mom called it, was a pretty fun and busy weekend.  Saturday I got to go to soccer camp at UWL.  It was pretty cool.  My dad and Maggie got to play along with me and my mentor (a volunteer from the soccer team) on Veterans Memorial Field.  It was through Inspire Sports, which is a group that allows awesome kids like me to play/practice sports with volunteer mentors.  Mom and Molly had to sit in the bleachers and watch.  It was pretty fun and we had a beautiful day for it.

Family and Friends and Vacation Oh My!

Well, since my lil sis Molly aka "the sequel" came around, life has been a lil more busy than what we have been used to the last couple years.  Good but busy.  A few weeks after "the sequel's" baptism, we turned around and took a road trip to Milwaukee for Spencer's baptism and Zoey's 3rd birthday party.

It was a packed weekend.  We got to stay in my Uncle Kurt's newly finished basement, which was fun, we had the whole place to ourselves down there.  We also got to meet my Aunt Kristi's "friend" Nick, as he made the drive up from TN with her for the par-tays.  Not sure why people say it that way, but "friend" Nick was pretty cool.  He passed the Shay Family test.

We celebrated my dad's birthday in March!  My mom and Maggie made him a pretty sweet ice cream cake.  It was a 3 day process and we all managed to keep it a secret from him, that is until the day before his birthday.  When he walked in the door, Maggie ran up to him and said, "dadda, we did not make you a cake today"...... oh well, everyone said it tasted good.  I even tried some of it.

Then, since my mom's spring break and my spring break fell on the same days, the fam decided to take a mini vacation.  Mom packed our bags and we all headed up to the cities for a couple days.  We stayed in a hotel, ordered in food, went out to eat for food, went swimming, and spent a day at the Mall of America.  We did the whole underwater world thing which was pretty neat.  Maggie and my dad went on some rides, and me and Molly and mom put on some good miles walking around.  It was fun and exhausting at the same time.  Not to mention that "the sequel" who has been a pretty good sleeper up to this point, decided to wake up every hour on the hour our second night in.  It made for a pretty cranky mom and dad in the morning, well that and the Badgers not pulling off a win.  Both lil sis' wore their Badger hair bling, and it still wasn't enough to chalk up a win.  After it was all said and done,  I over heard my folks saying they need a vacation from our vacation.....

And to top it off, we had Easter!  Yes, guess we were all good enough to be visited by the Easter Bunny again.  Maggie did an awesome job helping me and Molly during our egg hunt Easter morning.  She shared the eggs with us, but when all was said and done, she got to keep all the candy to herself.  We colored our eggs a lil differently this year - my mom found it on pintrest - we used cool whip and food coloring to tie-dye our eggs.  It was really fun.

Now, its back to the grind.... oh and I forgot to mention, Maggie is learning how to skate (and picking out her own clothes in the morning).

Quick Update

Just a quick update folks.  My Grandma Shay has officially been with us for a month now.  She is up from Florida helping out with Molly for a little bit - and boy has it been helpful!  What else has been happenin you may ask.....

Well, me, Maggie, and my parents all went to Sesame Street Live again and had a blast.  It was so dark, my mom didn't get many good pics, so you'll have to take my word for it.  The Count even shook my had during the show.  I was hopin for Elmo or Cookie, but I'll take what I get.

I also had a special visitor.  Hannah came back to see me.  She was surprised to see how much I have grown. But we didn't skip a beat.  She still knows how to get me to laugh.  It was super nice to hang out with her - even if my parents stuck around and were asking her how med school is going and everything - I think we all miss her.

And last but not least, we had some friends over last weekend - a house full actually.  My dad's buddies from high school and their families.  We had 9 adults and 7 kids under age 5.  Let's just say it was busy.  And I better not forget to mention, 3 of the adults are pregnant.  We found out that we will be adding 2 more girls and a lil boy to the mix.  Crazy!  My parents say congrats, I say welcome.

January came and went so fast, so fast that Feb is almost over already?!?!
Keep an eye out for what's coming up:
- Molly is getting Baptized this Saturday (if anyone wants to come let my folks know)
- I am going to be doing adaptive skiing again
-My dad's birthday is right around the corner
-My new cousin Spence is getting baptized the same weekend we celebrate Zoey's birthday

Till then...

Another year come and gone

Hey everyone, Molly here.  Conner was telling me about his blog the other day.  So, while he is jumpin around in the cage with dad, I decided to sneak on and take a stab at writing a post myself (and share a pic or two).

HEY!

First of all, Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to everyone!  We went to see the lights a couple times, once with some friends and once by ourselves to see Santa.  Both were pretty cool.

We celebrate 3 different Christmas' (and each one was a blast).  I slept through most of them, but Conner and Maggie both had a good time.  Thanks to our families for the neat gifts.  Not sure if we had more fun with the gifts or playing in the "aftermath".

And, Santa was nice enough to leave us a note this year - he said Conner's gift was too big to fit down the chimney so he left it at the front door after it snowed.  Conner got a cool new sled.  Since I am dealing with my first cold (sneezing and coughing) I didn't get to play in the snow.  But I got some good shots of Conner and Maggie havin fun.

Well, guess that's all for now, Conner is almost done jumping and I don't want him to catch me writing.  Time for me to sleep again, since that's what I do!
