Where did the Summer go?

Boy oh boy, I can't believe that I am typing this, but another summer has come and gone.  I am getting ready for Kindergarten.... yes that is right, next week I will start full days of school.  I am excited about it, but to say my mom is a lil nervous is an understatement.  Can't wait to update you all on how school goes so stay tuned.  Until then, me and Maggie are trying to rest up a tish.  In fact, Maggie is getting obsessed with my iPad, and so will follow me around the house and sit by me just so she can watch my Dr. Seuss stories with me.  I'm not gonna lie, I kinda like it. Especially when she covers us so nicely with her blankie.

And just to catch everyone up to speed, the last bit of our summer flew by - we went to some local fairs and hit up some fun rides.  We saw some cool animals.  We had some friends come and visit us. And we had the annual Servais Open.  But one of the tough things I have had to deal with is that my friend Hannah left us - and I say us as in my fam.  She moved onto bigger and better things - Med School in Milwaukee.  Hannah was with us for a year and a half and we got to be good buds.  Maggie was also a fan.  Anywho, when it was time to say bubye, I would be lying if I said there weren't any tears (cough, my mom, cough, cough). I just know Hannah will make a great doctor! Anywho, a short time later we got a package in the mail, and found that she hooked us kids all up with some awesome doctor gear from her new school.  She even included my new lil bro or sis, who by the way is only a handful of weeks away from joining the fam.

Lucky us, my mom was able to find some people to fill Hannah's shoes, and they stepped in quite quickly.  My pal (aka my paraprofessional) from school, Victoria, and my mom's cousin, Katelyn, are going to tag team helping me out.  Between the 2 of them, I am staying pretty busy and things should work out pretty smoothly.... now my mom just needs to figure out my busing schedule.  And let me tell you, my mom has a pretty strong opinion on the bus people.  It drives her nuts that they can't figure out my pick up and drop off times sooner, so she doesn't have to stress over schedules/planning.

5 and 3 - How Can this Be!

We ALL had a blast today at My and Maggie's Beach Bash Birthday Party!!!  Today was my 5th birthday and tomorrow is Maggie's 3rd birthday.  Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who made it to help us celebrate!  We had some yummy food (or so I was told), had fun in the sun (and the shade), all us kids got in the pool, I drove my power wheel around a lil, Maggie ran through some sprinklers, we played with squirt guns and bubbles, and we got some pretty awesome gifts.  Thanks again and enjoy a few of our pics.

Maggie leading her friends in a song :)

The pool was a HIT for both young and old!

My Grandma Servais made some beachtastic cupcakes!

By the end of the day, we were all tired, but Maggie found a second wind when she got to put on her new Frozen PJs.  Last but not least, me and Maggie want to say thank you to our parents, our Grandparents, our Uncles and Aunts (regular and great), our Cousins, our parent's Friends, and our Friends: Zoey, Gracie, Bell, Carter, Emmett, Clayton, Elsie, Kiarra, Kylie, Kora, Kassidy, Wouldn't have been as fun without you all.

This and Next weekend

I had a nice relaxing weekend hanging out with my Grandma.  I'm not gonna lie, I got a little spoiled. She did snap a pretty good pic of me, if I do say so myself.

My sis and parents went to a wedding, my dad was the Best Man and my sis was the Flower Girl for Jared and Lara's wedding!  I know you guys don't ever get sick of seeing pics of me, but just to give you a lil break, I thought I would share some pics of my sis all dressed up.

I also just wanted to let people know, my folks are having a beach bash bday party for me and Maggie this Sunday the 19th (5 and 3, how can this be).  They don't send out invites cause they don't want people to feel like they have to come, but if you wanna come just let my mom know so she can have enough food for everyone. We are hoping there will be good weather so we can be outside in the pool and water toys. It will probably start around 11 with food probably around noonish.  Bring suits/towels and anything you would want to play with outside :)  There should be good food and fun times.

4th of July Horsin' Around

Happy 4th of July Everyone!

Me and the fam had a nice 4th of July hanging out with some of my Shay cousins.  We even lit some pretty neat fireworks when it got dark.  My sis got her first crack at sparklers.  And my dad had this funny headband and glasses that we all took turns wearing for funny pictures.  I included pics of me and Maggie.  My mom and dad didn't want their pics up.  We had such a fun time that me and Maggie both slept in till 10 the next morning.  I think it was a nice treat for my folks too!

Then, just last night, I had my first encounter with a horse.  My parent took me to HorseSense in La Crosse to see if I can start a riding program.  It is horse riding for kids like me and I loved it.  Looks like I will be giving it a try for a few weeks.  My dad and my friend Hannah may even volunteer to help them when I am there.  My mom would love to, but this summer she won't be able to due to her growing belly.  My mom didn't get a pic of my smilin face, but that will just give her something to do next week.  Here are a couple shots of my first time out.

A LiL rough patch

As some of you may know, I had my first seizure the first part of May.  Turns out I was getting a lil stomach virus or something and the medical world thinks that may have been what set me off.  Anywho, everyone was hoping it was a one and done kinda thing.  They just increased some of my meds and called it a day.  Then last week I went through the airway and digestive clinic up at Mayo in Rochester - long story short, it is a week long clinic where I met with ENT, GI, Pulmonary, Nursing, and had a minor surgery (they took my adenoids out again and took some biopsies of my stomach, intestine, and esophagus - big words for a kid I know, but when you live my life you get used to big words). And on top of that, since we were up there anyways, I did a 3 hr gait lab test and had an MRI of my head and back.  It wasn't all fun and games, but it really wasn't too bad.  Me and mom got to stay in a hotel one night and we stayed in the hospital one night.  The other days we drove back and forth cause we both missed dad and Maggie. We get the results of all this junk this week.  But my experience with the medical world makes me believe it will just lead to more appointments.

Then for father's day weekend we went down to Milwaukee to visit my cousin Zoey, her parents, and hang out with Grandma and Grandpa Servais too.  I decided to shake things up a bit and had my second seizure on Saturday night - only this time it didn't stop on its own.  I got to ride in an ambulance to Children's Hospital and they finally got me under control in the ER.  For good measure they admitted me to the PICU for the night and most of Sunday for observation since it was such a long seizure.  We got discharged late Sunday and I decided I didn't want to drive the whole 3 hours home that night, so I got a little fussy in the car and my parents fell right into my master plan.  We got to stay in a hotel in the Dells.  Just me and my folks - my grandparents took Maggie and Toby home with them as we were sure how long we would be in the hospital.  I love staying in hotels when I get a big comfy bed and super soft pillows all to myself.  Anywho, we are laying kinda low this week and each day I get a little bit more energy and am acting more like myself.  My arms are pretty beat up from all the blood draws and IVs and junk - but I'm tough so I can handle it.  I just hope my parents can - they aren't as tough as I am ;)

Some weekend shenanigans

It must be summer because me and the fam have been busy..... don't have much to say but got some good pics along the way.  Memorial Day weekend we were at my Grandma and Grandpa Servais' place cause my Aunt Kristi was in town - and Zoey talked her parents into joining us all too.  We hit up the Chippewa zoo, played on the playground, did a lil golfin, and caught up on some sleep.  My mom, grandma, and Aunt kiki hit up an Amish Auction too.

And then we decided to try out luck at hiking.  We drove to Trempeleau and hit the trails.  My sis was a rock star and made it all the way to the top walking herself.  My dad did well toting me on his back.  My mom, between the baby belly and the bum leg (well, I guess it is healed up but she still walks with a limp) survived.  We may have had to take a picture break now and then for her to catch her breath - but you didn't hear that from me.  When we got back down the bluff, Maggie got to put her feet in the Mississippi as her reward for doing a stellar job.

Schools out For Summer

So even with all my appointments and all the running around my fam has done this past month, I managed to graduate from 4K!!!  This means next year I will go a full day of school, all 5 days of the week (my mom is a lil nervous, but I told her not to sweat it).  Here are some pics from my graduation and a field trip my mom got to chaperon.

And for those of you interested in my last string of appointment.  Turns out the medical world just can't get enough of me.  The results of all my tests and stuff when me and mom were up in Rochester for 3 days..... now they want me to spend a whole week with them.  So middle of June we will be up there again.  This time we will see GI, ENT, Pulmonary, have an MRI, do a gait lab study, visit with a general doc, and maybe have a minor surgery - a probe/biopsy of my esophagus.  I know you are all jealous (not).  My sis decided to take a pic in honor of me and what I have to put up with...

And since she looks so tough here (in honor of me), I thought I should also share a pic of her in her dance outfit.  I was a pretty proud big bro when we went to watch Maggie preform.  She did great!
