Second "First" Haircut

BEFORE
AFTER

Last weekend my dad gave me my second haircut...... but since it was the first time my mom was present she considers it my "first" haircut.  She was able to get a before and after picture as well as a little curl for my baby book.  Me and dad don't quite undersand why someone would want to keep a piece of hair, but I guess the book has a page in it specifically for it, so she was happy.

Happy Father's Day

Hey All, Just wanted to say Happy Father's Day to all those amazing daddy's out there.  And, to my ol' pops.... thanks for being a great dad to look up to!
You may ask, how did my dad spend Father's day..... well I will tell you.  First, he got me up and we chatted a lil bit and he helped my mom clean up one of my big throw ups - sorry about that.  Then he headed into La Crosse to help clean up after the Freedom Fest.  He had a little help from some relatives too - A HUGE THANKS to Grandpa Servais, Great Aunt Rose and Uncle Chuck, Uncle Kurt, Aunt Ashley, Aunt Kristi, Uncle Andy, and Grandpa Shay.  Then we went to 2 hospitals - and it wasn't even for my appointments.  It was to visit my new cousin Gracie Shay - she is a lil cutie (and I decided to puke on my dad while we were there too, you know, since he did such a nice job cleaning up after me earlier in the day); and to visit my buddy Emmett's new lil brother Clayton Puent - he is gonna be my buddy too, he just doesn't know it yet. I might even let him play with my new brother or sister, we'll see.    So, by the time we got home we were all pretty tired.  But he did manage to open his Father's Day gift from me and mom.

*And on a side note, the La Crosse tribune has a pretty cool story in the paper today.  It may have something to do with my family.  You can read it online if you don't get the paper version at: http://lacrossetribune.com/news/local/intensive-caring-group-reaches-out-to-parents-coping-with-nicu/article_252a2348-b903-11e1-a320-001a4bcf887a.html

Swingin in Style

Well, at first I did not know what to make of this thing my mom put me in the other day.... but as we got going I decided I kinda liked it!

Then, Grandpa Servais came to visit us (during the week).   Since it was soo nice out he drove the convertible.  He let me sit on his lap - don't worry folks, the car was not in motion.  But I thought it was pretty neat.  Can't wait till I am bigger and can sit by myself - maybe Grandpa will let me go for a ride with him sometime.  I promise I won't throw up.... much.

Good Saturday

Well it was a late night Friday and an early morning Saturday for my mom, but she pulled it off.  She had to make her table top display.  When my Grandma Servais saw an advertisement for the Biggest Baby Shower in La Crosse put on by Mayo Health System, she suggested my mom call and ask if she could have a booth for "Our Miracle Babies".   That is exactly what she did, and they said yes.  So this morning, mom packed up the car and we all went to the Children's Museum in La Crosse where the event was held.  It was pretty cool cause I have never been there before, so while she was chatting with moms, me and dad went exploring.  I even got my picture taken with dinosaurs. And dad even maned the booth for a few mins so me and mom could walk around and look at the other displays.... since she is expecting and all.  And she is pretty pumped to be rollin in on 35 weeks now.

Getting Close

Well People, my mom made it to 34 weeks now..... my new brother or sister should be joining us soon.  I am pretty excited but I like all the attentions, so this will be an adjustment.  Her doctor told her that she has a lifting restriction of 20 lbs the rest of her pregnancy.  I don't think she is following it to closely because she keeps picking me up and I am a chuncker now (24-25 lbs).  I guess I am glad she does, cause I still like to snuggle with her.  But I could do without all the exercises I guess.
Thankfully my Dad, my Aunt Kristi, and my Grandparents are being pretty helpful.

My Dad also just hung up my swing outside.  It is pretty cool.  Since I am a big fan of moving I think I am really going to enjoy using it.  And it gives me somewhere to sit outside if my mom wants to go out and get some fresh air.

And some big news, my mom officially graduated with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy over Memorial Day weekend.  She is pretty excited to be done with school.  Now we just have to wait for my dad to finish up his Masters and then I won't have to listen to them complain any more.... right?

If you want to come say hi to us this weekend, me and my folks will be at the Children's Museum Saturday afternoon for the Biggest Baby Shower event.  We will have a table display for "Our Miracle Babies", plus my mom said she is going to look around herself, since she is expecting an all.

Last thing, my mom and dad are going to be setting up a team for Little Miracles 5K and Family Fest.  Its gonna be an awesome time, and its for the group my mom is involved with "Our Miracle Babies".  So stay tuned for details if you wanna join my team.  My mom is going to walk with me and my new brother or sister, but my dad is thinkin of running.  It's the first Saturday in Aug!  Here's a website if you want more info right away:

Its Official...

Tuesday my mom woke me up way too early and we heading to Rochester (again).  This time for my last NICU follow up clinic, yep, my last one.  And according to my ma, it was one of the most productive ones.  I personally couldn't tell a difference.  But here's the highlights, if you can call them that:

- I am 24 lbs now and 2 feet 8 inches tall.  I'm a big boy :)

- I am going to have another MRI.  They want to see how things have changed since I haven't had one since I was in the NICU.  Plus, this will give them more of an idea on how my development will progress.  I overheard them say that I will need to be put under for this so I stay still, but I am not really sure what they are putting me under... I hope its not too scary.

- I am going to see a new opthomologist, one that also specializes in neurology.  My mom was pumped to hear this.  She was getting pretty mad at the guy I have been seeing for my appointments.  All he would say is my eyes are fine, but wouldn't talk about what I am actually seeing/comprehending.  So this should be a good visit.

- I am no longer needing to come to NICU follow up clinic because they are switching me to the CP clinic.  So no need to get too excited, I still have to go to appointments, just a different kind.

- And I now have an official diagnosis.... they told my mom that they are going to go ahead and diagnose me with Cerebral Palsy.  I guess this was bitter sweet for my mom, as she has been expecting this and was waiting for someone to actually diagnose me (most doctors danced around the subject), but at the same time I think she was a little sad.  On the drive home, though, she told me of all these really cool and amazing kids that she has worked with over the years that also have CP.  So she will make sure that I am able to do whatever I want to as the years go by.  As she said, "a diagnosis is not going to keep me from enjoying life, it will just make fighting with insurance a tad easier"

Brew Crew Fam

So this weekend my parents got me all dressed up in my Brew Crew gear, took a quick fam pick, and then hit the road for Milwaukee...... leavin me behind with my Grandma & Grandpa Servais and Aunt Kristi (thanks for hangin with me all weekend).  I was all excited thinkin I was gonna get to see Miller Park.  Oh well, another time I guess.  And it was probably a good thing I didn't tag along - it was like 90 degress Saturday (and the Crew lost), so I didn't miss much.  Plus, they went with 2 of my buddies from the NICU's parents - and they all left the kids behind too.  At least the Brewers won today!!!

P.S.. My new lil bro or sis is now 32 weeks along! We're getting close
