Quick Update

Just a quick update folks.  My Grandma Shay has officially been with us for a month now.  She is up from Florida helping out with Molly for a little bit - and boy has it been helpful!  What else has been happenin you may ask.....

Well, me, Maggie, and my parents all went to Sesame Street Live again and had a blast.  It was so dark, my mom didn't get many good pics, so you'll have to take my word for it.  The Count even shook my had during the show.  I was hopin for Elmo or Cookie, but I'll take what I get.

I also had a special visitor.  Hannah came back to see me.  She was surprised to see how much I have grown. But we didn't skip a beat.  She still knows how to get me to laugh.  It was super nice to hang out with her - even if my parents stuck around and were asking her how med school is going and everything - I think we all miss her.

And last but not least, we had some friends over last weekend - a house full actually.  My dad's buddies from high school and their families.  We had 9 adults and 7 kids under age 5.  Let's just say it was busy.  And I better not forget to mention, 3 of the adults are pregnant.  We found out that we will be adding 2 more girls and a lil boy to the mix.  Crazy!  My parents say congrats, I say welcome.

January came and went so fast, so fast that Feb is almost over already?!?!
Keep an eye out for what's coming up:
- Molly is getting Baptized this Saturday (if anyone wants to come let my folks know)
- I am going to be doing adaptive skiing again
-My dad's birthday is right around the corner
-My new cousin Spence is getting baptized the same weekend we celebrate Zoey's birthday

Till then...

Another year come and gone

Hey everyone, Molly here.  Conner was telling me about his blog the other day.  So, while he is jumpin around in the cage with dad, I decided to sneak on and take a stab at writing a post myself (and share a pic or two).

HEY!

First of all, Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to everyone!  We went to see the lights a couple times, once with some friends and once by ourselves to see Santa.  Both were pretty cool.

We celebrate 3 different Christmas' (and each one was a blast).  I slept through most of them, but Conner and Maggie both had a good time.  Thanks to our families for the neat gifts.  Not sure if we had more fun with the gifts or playing in the "aftermath".

And, Santa was nice enough to leave us a note this year - he said Conner's gift was too big to fit down the chimney so he left it at the front door after it snowed.  Conner got a cool new sled.  Since I am dealing with my first cold (sneezing and coughing) I didn't get to play in the snow.  But I got some good shots of Conner and Maggie havin fun.

Well, guess that's all for now, Conner is almost done jumping and I don't want him to catch me writing.  Time for me to sleep again, since that's what I do!

Fairies and Whos and Babies Oh My!

The time has come...... I have lost my first tooth!  It happened at school.  My mom told me and Maggie about the tooth fairy so we put the tooth under my pillow.  Sure enough, there was a quarter in place of my tooth in the morning.  Maggie was so excited she took it and put it under the Christmas tree (not sure why but she did).  I guess she thinks all I want for Christmas is my one front tooth (that's right, I just said that).

Me and my teacher, I am holding my tooth myself
See the missing bottom tooth

Now, I thought since I am talking fairies, I might as well let you know that Maggie just had her Christmas dance program the other day.  They did The Grinch!  Maggie's class were the Whos.  It was pretty cute, if you like that kinda thing.

And since I mentioned Maggie, I should probably share a pic of Molly too!  She's a good lil sis so far but I have lots to teach her.....  her, and my new baby cuz Spencer too.  He was born yesterday. Congrats Uncle Kurt and Aunt Ashley.

Merry Christmas from the Shays at the Rotary Lights

She's Here....

After months of waiting, 9 to be exact, I would like to introduce my new kid sis Molly Kathleen Shay!  I am officially outnumbered now.  But, I guess I did such a stellar job teaching Maggie everything I know, that I am sure Molly won't be any different.  Plus, she is kinda cute I guess.  I think she is going to be a lil more like me though, when it was time it was time - me and Molly didn't waste any time when it was time to make an appearance.  While I decided to show up 4 months early (I know, a little excessive, especially considering my parents are always late).  Molly was only a couple days early, but the whole thing only lasted about an hour.  Maggie, on the other hand was a week and a half late, and the whole process took about 11 hours...... plus, Molly has blond hair like I do (for now at least).  So there you have it.  Now it's time to meet my sis Molly:

Busy Time of Year

For Starters, I want to say Happy Birthday to my Grandma and Grandpa Servais!  You may not recognize it in this pic, but we are all some wild and crazy animals.

I also wanna say Happy Birthday to my Grandma Shay, we don't have a pic with you, but want you to know we didn't forget.  Between Sept and Oct, we have had a lot of celebrations.  Besides my Grandparents' Bdays.  It was also my mom's birthday and my parent's 9th anniversary.  Not to mention, my mom keeps reminding us that we will have a new brother or sister any day now, but truthfully I don't think she knows what she is talking about, cause she has been saying that for weeks now.

And last weekend I had a special visitor.  My Canna (aka Hannah) came to visit us cause she was in town for the weekend.  I was so happy I could hardly sit still for a pic.  She had some words of wisdom that I decided to steel, cause I couldn't have said it better myself... distance means so little when someone means so much!

We have also been taking advantage of the nice weather and hit up the Apple Fest parade with some of our friends.  Did the corn maze in West Salem.  Had a play date at the park.  Visited the apple orchard and picked some yummy apples.  And have had some pretty great Packer Parties.... man I love watching football with my dad, but its even better when we WIN :)

I'll keep you all posted on the status of baby Shay 3.
As much as my relatives would like us to use the name Paper Mae or Rick O,  I just don't see my parents going for that.  Maybe, just maybe, they could go with Tu.
We'll see ;)

Where did the Summer go?

Boy oh boy, I can't believe that I am typing this, but another summer has come and gone.  I am getting ready for Kindergarten.... yes that is right, next week I will start full days of school.  I am excited about it, but to say my mom is a lil nervous is an understatement.  Can't wait to update you all on how school goes so stay tuned.  Until then, me and Maggie are trying to rest up a tish.  In fact, Maggie is getting obsessed with my iPad, and so will follow me around the house and sit by me just so she can watch my Dr. Seuss stories with me.  I'm not gonna lie, I kinda like it. Especially when she covers us so nicely with her blankie.

And just to catch everyone up to speed, the last bit of our summer flew by - we went to some local fairs and hit up some fun rides.  We saw some cool animals.  We had some friends come and visit us. And we had the annual Servais Open.  But one of the tough things I have had to deal with is that my friend Hannah left us - and I say us as in my fam.  She moved onto bigger and better things - Med School in Milwaukee.  Hannah was with us for a year and a half and we got to be good buds.  Maggie was also a fan.  Anywho, when it was time to say bubye, I would be lying if I said there weren't any tears (cough, my mom, cough, cough). I just know Hannah will make a great doctor! Anywho, a short time later we got a package in the mail, and found that she hooked us kids all up with some awesome doctor gear from her new school.  She even included my new lil bro or sis, who by the way is only a handful of weeks away from joining the fam.

Lucky us, my mom was able to find some people to fill Hannah's shoes, and they stepped in quite quickly.  My pal (aka my paraprofessional) from school, Victoria, and my mom's cousin, Katelyn, are going to tag team helping me out.  Between the 2 of them, I am staying pretty busy and things should work out pretty smoothly.... now my mom just needs to figure out my busing schedule.  And let me tell you, my mom has a pretty strong opinion on the bus people.  It drives her nuts that they can't figure out my pick up and drop off times sooner, so she doesn't have to stress over schedules/planning.
