Patient Professor

Today Conner made a guest appearance at UWL for the Physical Therapy students.  He visited them during their pediatric lab class.  He did such a great job and worked hard the whole 2 hours.  But boy oh boy was the lil guy beat.  Didn't sleep a wink on the drive home, but once home he fell asleep within 1 min of rocking with mom!  He must have been having sweet dreams, cause every now and then he would smile.  What a trooper!

Little Problem?!?

Hey Dudes Conner Here,

I have this lil problem that just came up.....

Besides the fact that my mom takes way too many pictures, she also has all these bracelets to sell for this AWESOME group called Our Miracle Babies.  While I am having a blast with them all to myself, my dad wasn't a fan of me wearing them all.  So... I need to find some people to buy some of these from my mom and free my arms.  They are $3 a piece and you can get ahold of my mom if you want one, or you can go to www.ourmiraclebabies.com and order them online yourself (if you don't ever see my ma in person) and if you wanna try and sell a bunch or hand out a bunch, she can get you a bulk order too.

Here's the scoop: Bare with me here, as these are her words (so its going to sound a lil motherly).  We all know what Miracles Babies are in general.  How everything has be happen at the right time, in the right way.  When things don't go as planned people run into things like bedrest and the NICU.  Our Miracle Babies is working hard to help out these people.  The members are people who have been through things not working out the way they are supposed to, people who know people who may not have had the perfect road to delivery and bringing baby home, people who may have experienced miscarriage or loss, and just people who realize that all babies are Little Miracles and just want to help out.  All in all, its a pretty neat-o group.  If you want a closer shot of the braclets see below.  They say Our Miracle Babies on one side, flip them over and they say Miracles Do Come True.

Visitors

Hey All,
I have been pretty busy lately..... had a few visitors here and there the last couple weeks and have been packin on the pounds (I'm up to 22 lbs now).

First, my cuz Angela and her friend Zack came to visit.  They are pretty cool and like to try and keep me entertained.  They brought me a sweet outfit that I can't wait to wear - my mom said I should save it for the Servais Open, but we'll see.

Then my Grandma and Grandpa Servais along with my Aunt Kristi, Aunt Ashley, and Uncle Kurt all came at the same time.  I don't know who was more excited me or Toby.  Let's just said I didn't get in many of my exercises because there was never a chance to be on the ground.  Everyone wanted to snuggle with me.... can you blame them.

And finally, someone called the Easter Bunny came.  But I never got to see them, I was sleeping when this visitor stopped by with my Easter Basket.  My folks say that this Bunny guy will come back next year (and every year after that).  So maybe I can catch a glimpse next year.  I may have to recruit my new bro or sis to help with that.  Anywho, HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

New Stuff

Well, Conner wanted me to share a picture of his new teeth!  We now have 4 of them that have decided to join us finally.  Now that we are back to being our happy self - we were able to snap a quick pic.

On a side note, Conner is also excited to let everyone know that his mama made it to 24 weeks!  From here on out, we are in unchartered waters.  Pretty exciting!

Recovery Period

Well, better late than never.  Surgery day went well enough.  The final verdict was: tubes in the ears, tonsils and adenoids out, biopsy of larynx (voice box area), and scope of lungs.  Since we had to be there at the crack of dawn, Conner was out of surgery and up to his room in the PICU by noon.  They were originally only going to let him have Tylenol, but if you remember from his days in the NICU - Conner soaks up pain meds like they're candy.  We just couldn't get him comfy so he ended up getting some pretty strong narcotics that helped relax him, but then they also tired him out making it tougher to breath.  To help with this they gave him some steroids and some blow by oxygen.  The rest of the day Conner was either sleeping or crying - poor guy.  They gave mom a sleep room down the hall, and dad was lucky enough to sleep on the couch in the room with Conner - so no one really had a great night.  The next day the big questions was..... to go home or to stay another night.  We finally seemed to get ahead of his pain in terms of Tylenol and Oxy and his breathing got better.  So the decision was made about 5pm to head home.  Conner has been doing well - he is one tough cookie!!  He is still not back to his normal cheery self - still pretty crabby/fussy.  It probably doesn't help that he finally broke though another tooth... giving him a whopping 3 teeth total.  And to top it all off, our lil guy finally hit the 20 lb mark on the scales, weighing in at 21.6 lbs the day of surgery.  So to wrap it up, no picture today - we'll wait till he starts smiling again.  They say to expect a 2 week recovery.

Back to Rochester We Go

For starters...... I wanna say HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY TO MY DAD!!!  LOVE YA LOADS!!

Now to get down to business, I overheard my parents talking about some pretty important stuff.  Sounds like I am going back to the hospital.  This time for surgery with the ENT.  Apparently, they are going to take out my tonsils and adenoids, put tubes in my ears (because of all my ear infections), and do some exploring of my voice box to see if they have to do any work down there.  They may even take a peek at my lungs.  The doc told my parents to expect one night in the hopstial and plan for two just in case.  And to top it all off, we found out tonight (the night before) that we have to check in by 6:30am - meaning I will not be a happy camper tomorrow morning when my folks wake me up to leave at 5am(ish).  My mom said she would update everyone on here, so the next time you hear from me I will hopefully be all healed up.
